Following the successful trip to north London which garnered three valuable points for Leicester City, Jamie Vardy’s fitness was discussed.

Winning away at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is no easy feat. A lot of observers suggest that Spurs can actually lift the Premier League trophy this season. Although, Leicester City made relatively light work of the favourites on the day.

Thanks to James Justin doing an excellent job at stifling Heung-Min Son; meanwhile Wes Fofana seemed to keep Harry Kane quiet.

Unfortunately for the King Power club, Jamie Vardy was substituted towards the end of the game with what appeared to be a groin strain. Thankfully Brendan Rodgers was optimistic about the injury, and the player declared himself fit for the Manchester United contest on Boxing Day. There is more of the update here.

Leicester City’s likewise lauding

After once again helping his side to an important victory, Vardy praised his manager’s game plan in the Spurs meeting. England’s former striker explained parts of the scheme, which he declared that the squad “nailed”. Including pressing on the halfway line in order to create spaces in the Tottenham midfield and defence.

Subsequently, Rodgers declared his main forward “one of the best in the world”, not for the first time. Then adjudged that not too many athletes could replicate the Sheffield-born man’s skill set. According to the gaffer, Vardy is all teamwork – and no ego. What a great statement, as per Daily Mail.

In addition to both men complimenting one another and dismissing Vardy’s problem – possibly a bit early – Rodgers also said that it was a shame to withdraw Timothy Castagne from the game on 60 minutes. However, the boss confirmed it was a pre-designed plan to ensure the Belgian didn’t repeat his injury or have a reoccurrence. Furthermore, Rodgers again provided the insight that player-time management is so essential in this awkward and condensed campaign.
