With the January transfer window in full swing, people up and down the country give their opinions on who their club should sign, so here I am with my Leicester City view.

Brendan Rodgers’ side sit proudly in 3rd position of the Premier League and are into the 4th round of the FA Cup, however, many fans feel that they are capable of achieving more and to do so need to sign some players to cope with the strains of this season, especially given the injury problems Leicester City have had this term.

With Islam Slimani finally securing a transfer away, Kelechi Iheanacho is in and out of form and Jamie Vardy not far away from an injury, a striker– as for any club- is probably needed, but what type should they go for? In my view, the club should be looking for someone who can be a long-term replacement for Jamie Vardy.

Eddie Nketiah

Eddie Nketiah has a vibe of a Chelsea/Arsenal youth product who will never be able to establish himself in the first team due to his superiors splashing the cash on big-name strikers.

The Europa League seems to be Nketiah’s competion so far having scored three goals in it this season, but with Aubemeyang and Lacazette ahead of him, there’s no game time.

I think Rodgers rates mobility and flexibility along the front line, and with Nketiah able to play across the front line in any position, it surely puts him ahead of Iheanacho who is an out and out striker.

A loan move might be good, to test the waters and if it doesn’t work out then you send him back. At 21 years of age there aren’t many more exciting young English strikers.
