It has been revealed that the Leicester City Recruitment department does have a wishlist of strikers, with Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard among them.

Everyone knows that it’s ultimately going to be very difficult for Leicester City to replace Jamie Vardy on a long-term basis. Replicating or duplicating the striker’s famous exploits or goalscoring record will be even harder – if not impossible.

Nevertheless, a report emerged this week stating that the Foxes actually have a wishlist of potential successors for the former-England international. You can read more at Daily Mail on that subject.

Additionally, the publication names one of the east Midlands side’s targets and a possible future signing – it’s a player the supporters have witnessed links about before.

Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard is the man connected to the Foxes, once again. Edouard has a very good scoring record, the only drawback is that it’s in Scotland. However, the Hoops hitman’s French Under-21 statistics are stunning: nine goals in six appearances over two years. A definite pedigree.

Another significant exit occurred Wednesday on Filbert Way, as Algerian striker Islam Slimani left the club on a free transfer. Where to start with ‘big Slim’? How about the price, or lack of? To lose your £30 million record signing only three years after buying him, is an absolute recruitment disaster! A disaster.

There is, indeed, no way of avoiding that fact. If the Foxes’ exquisite business dealings over the past five-and-a-half-years or so in the market weren’t consistently one of the best, most prudent and impeccably impressive – I would personally write much harsher words.

Nevertheless, Slimani wasn’t a bad player, whose goal-to-game ratio was more than satisfactory. Yet his in-game efforts were not always sufficient; regardless, Foxes of Leicester wishes him good luck.
