Leicester transfers: Foxes interested in Christian Eriksen deal
According to a reliable report, Leicester City are interested in a temporary loan deal for attacking-midfielder Christian Eriksen.
When John Percy speaks, Midlands football clubs’ supporters listen. This time the Telegraph reporter has divulged information that the Foxes targeted a transfer for Inter Milan’s unwanted man.
Of course, Eriksen was a highly-rated Tottenham Hotspur player – about three years ago. Leaving after his form nosedived, he lost his place in the team under a couple of managers in the process.
Essentially Eriksen is unneeded on Filbert Way: there are probably four midfield men at Leicester who currently better the Denmark international’s contemporary style. Along with the Foxes in question being a few years younger than their counterpart who is plying trade in Serie A.
Happily, Eriksen’s ridiculous £300,000-per-week wages apparently deterred the east Midlands outfit, says the Telegraph. However, as with Real Madrid’s Martin Odegaard, it is encouraging to see Leicester aiming for targets with status.
Leicester City transfer update, televised games
In addition to business in the open market, enquiries are constantly addressed to Brendan Rodgers about his team’s chances of lifting the Premier League trophy this season. In response, Rodgers claims “It’s going to be a huge challenge to be up there but we are happy to take on that challenge”; the quote comes via Daily Mail.
There has been some good news for fans of the Premier League because bosses have reportedly agreed to screen all English top-flight matches on television. Having a completely televised schedule can and will, believe it or not, help with some people’s mental health at these testing times.
With the United Kingdom in a complete lockdown presently, anything to take your mind away from the difficult reality we find ourselves in is a good thing. Hopefully games also bring households together for some enjoyment.
