Kelechi Iheanacho’s late goal was enough to send Leicester City through to the quarter final of the FA Cup against Brighton.

Are you awake? Anyone? No, me neither. Although I did open my eyes when I heard Iheanacho’s name in a slightly more enthusiastic tone from the commentator.

This game had all the qualities of a modern FA Cup tie. A number of changes, slow tempo, neither side willing to go for it, and no shot on target until the 80th minute.

It was hardly a classic, but nevertheless, the Nigerian’s header from a corner would you believe!!! was enough to keepThe Foxes’ dream of a first FA Cup triumph alive.

However, the most pressing issue I have is Jamie Vardy: at the moment if you talk about Leicester, the striker’s name is going to be mentioned, such is the importance of him.

Meanwhile, his first start since his operation saw an abundance of bad touches, aimless long balls towards him, and a real lack of energy.

Of course, the east Midlanders’ No.9 is not going to be razor sharp, but when Iheanacho came on in his place, there was a slight difference.

All of a sudden, the Foxes started to play a few more passes, with people running beyond the Nigerian, and the home side were looking a little sharper.

With Vardy in the side, their approach play suffers a lot more, as Leicester play with a man less effectively and when they struggle, there is the predictable hopeful ball in behind.

With a crucial game against champions Liverpool on Saturday, Brendan Rodgers has a big decision to make:

Iheanacho or Vardy for Leicester City?

Liverpool will undoubtedly have a lot more of the ball, which could play into Vardy’s hands. Yet, with him not being fully fit and Iheanacho full of confidence, playing well and making others play well around him, surely a fully fit and confident Iheanacho has to start over an 80% Vardy.
