Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has informed media of two important injury updates for Foxes stars James Maddison and Jamie Vardy.

Every Leicester City fan needs some good news on this Monday afternoon, following a week to forget for the Foxes. First of all they crashed out of Europe, Slavia Prague beating the Premier League side in the Europa League. Secondly Arsenal also came to King Power Stadium and defeated Leicester.

Losing 3-1 and 2-0 in the manner that the team did is actually the most upsetting element: no fight, widespread sloppiness and little quality was exhibited by many players. Nevertheless, the fight for a top-flight top four placing goes on; the east Midlands side are still third, in fact, after the loss to the Gunners.

Thankfully, in his pre-match press conference prior to meeting Burnley at Turf Moor, Brendan Rodgers had some much needed good news for the Blue Army in the form of a significant injury boost.

James Maddison has been back on the recovery table of late; the playmaker endured a couple of issues last season and already this, with a hip problem reoccurring recently.

Just when Leicester desperately required positive information on any assets, especially attack-minded ones, Maddison is set to return to training later this week. It seems as though the England international’s trip to a specialist in London paid off. This particularly welcomed news comes courtesy of BBC Sport.

Furthermore, Rodgers spoke about Jamie Vardy’s health; the former-Three Lions man underwent a successful hernia operation not long ago, from which he is still not 100 per cent match fit:
