Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has provided an injury update on the Belgian Foxes midfielder Dennis Praet, who’s been out with a hamstring problem.

While having a plethora of sidelined personnel, Brendan Rodgers and his Leicester team have still beaten some significant clubs since Christmas. Which includes main competitors for a Champions League spot, Chelsea and Liverpool.

The last week’s games were an underrated test for the Foxes because Burnley’s Turf Moor and Brighton & Hove Albion’s American Express Stadium are not easy arenas to secure points in.

Thankfully for LCFC’s hopes of another European tour next season, they managed to share the spoils with the Clarets in a difficult matchup. While an unexpected matchday hero, Daniel Amartey, produced the goods as the Seagulls game expired, therefore claiming the win.

Rodgers had literally no senior, central attacking midfielders by trade, with James Maddison, Ayoze Perez and Dennis Praet all injured. Yes, Youri Tielemans is talented enough to compete and be productive in that role, yet he is more of a No.8, as opposed to No.10s such as Maddison. Perez can play there, and a similar categorisation to Tielemans should also be applied to his Belgium colleague.

In a recent press conference, the Leicester boss said this about Praet’s eventual return; he is expected to be the ‘next injured player to make a comeback’:

"“Dennis starts to get closer when he gets out onto the field.”– Brendan RodgersVia Leicestershire Live"

Hopefully this means that the former Sampdoria man is back in training towards the end of the week.

More. More injury concern as another player ruled out. light

Following the clash with Sheffield United, the east Midlands outfit meet league leaders Manchester City at King Power Stadium. LCFC should feel slightly boosted by the fact that Pep Guardiola’s long run of English top-flight victories has come to an end; Man City were defeated 2-0 at home by rivals Manchester United. Man United then went directly above Leicester at second in the table.
