When Leicester’s five remaining injured players should return
Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has confirmed five players remain injured and are currently unavailable for the Foxes.
While the Northern Irishman in charge on Filbert Way will most likely be buoyed by the comeback of an important trio versus Sheffield United in Sunday’s contest, he will be without five other players at King Power Stadium.
Thankfully for the third placed Premier League side at present, they can welcome back Jonny Evans, who the manager says is ready to play again. Ayoze Perez and Dennis Praet should also join their teammate.
That confirmation incidentally gives the boss a selection headache, as he now has to attempt to separate the three outstanding centre-backs in his squad: Caglar Soyuncu, Wesley Fofana, along with Evans. There is always the chance that they will be fielded in a 3-4-3 or a 5-3-2.
Yet that defensive set-up would be very unwise against the floundering Blades. Whichever pair is chosen – Foxes of Leicester guesses it’ll be the Turk and the Northern Irishman, with the Frenchman still learning his trade – that duo will evidently be Rodgers’ preferred pairing.
Five Leicester City players still injured
James Maddison has been out for a short period with a hip problem. According to Leicestershire Live there isn’t a timescale on his return; however, it was said at the start of the week that the playmaker would be back in training around this exact time.
Harvey Barnes had a knee operation recently; he may be able to make a comeback against West Bromwich Albion on April 17.
James Justin’s anterior cruciate ligament surgery and recovery means he won’t feature until November at the earliest.
Wes Morgan’s back is keeping him out; though the club captain should be back on the practice pitches next week.
Cengiz Under is said to have a thigh issue which he sustained while at Seagrave; he is predicted to be fit after the international break.
