An interesting statistic highlights the fact that contained within the modern Foxes squad is the most important attribute a team can have.

The phrase “Fergie-time” references the assumed extra amount of minutes Manchester United were supposedly given at the end of matches in Alex Ferguson’s era, prior to the final whistle.

In reality, this attempted slight, dig, or ridiculous accusation was a backhanded compliment: mostly every side that played under the meticulous scrutiny of the Scotsman would battle for 90 plus minutes with the belief that they will also win.

United were not always victorious on each occasion in that period, yet there was a true confidence implemented from the youth roster, all the way up to the title-winning first team. Using sheer positivity whilst embracing modern coaching and tactical styles, it appears Brendan Rodgers is successfully instilling the same instincts onto his side.

Stat shows Leicester City have most important attribute

Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund all looking longingly up at the Foxes. That’s right, Leicester (18) currently lead this collective in the list of clubs that have managed the most goals between the 75th and 90th plus minutes in 2020/21, in UEFA’s ‘Top 6’ leagues.

Others that make up the outfits include: Sporting Lisbon, Real Betis, Sassuolo and Stuttgart, as per Playmaker Stats.

As we know from Jamie Vardy’s excellent contribution on Sunday versus Sheffield United, much of the King Power roster are supplying goals. Fluidity and confidence are certainly inspiring them to some great achievements – let’s hope Champions League qualification is the eventual outcome.

If you’re thinking to yourself, ‘well, what’s all this stat stuff really mean and where’s it getting us?!” – just remember that the end of a game is the only part of a match that truly counts, within reason. Leicester must simply ensure that they haven’t conceded too many before the 75′ mark.
