Leicester City have received some encouraging injury news on midfielder James Maddison. Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers explains when the playmaker should return.

James Maddison was enjoying his most successful season in the Premier League. I would describe it as breakout in the sense of becoming a true star in the English top-flight.

Obviously it was 2019/20 when the 24-year-old first received senior international recognition, along with a cap. Yet that was about promise through natural ability and skill exhibited; Maddison is now the finished article with eight goals and five EPL assists in 2020/21.

When Maddison was injured again recently – there seems to be a recurring hip issue over almost the last year – Foxes fans naturally feared the worst for the team. The elegant player is arguably the main catalyst between good build-up play and correctly executing chances, on more occasions than not.

However, Youri Tielemans managed to advance himself up the pitch in ‘Madders” absence on Filbert Way and away from home; results whilst on the road have been nothing short of amazing for the majority of the campaign.

Meanwhile others such as Kelechi Iheanacho and Ayoze Perez courageously attempt to fill the void of a Maddison-less Leicester side – to a great degree.

Thankfully for the King Power outfit, the wait for the No.10’s comeback should not be too long. Eyes are on the Manchester City fixture on April 3 – over to Brendan Rodgers:
