There has been some good news for Leicester City and their supporters from star midfielder Youri Tielemans. Foxes of Leicester explains.

Belgium’s busily graceful footballer is one of a few candidates for Player of the Season on Filbert Way in 2020/21. That puts him alongside team-mates such as James Maddison, Kasper Schmeichel, Harvey Barnes and James Justin (before the latter suffered a horrid anterior cruciate ligament injury).

Barnes and Maddison can still return in time to be anointed with the Foxes crown, yet Tielemans will probably beat them all to the title. While he’s remained a fixture of the starting line-up with minimal resting periods, the former-AS Monaco man maintains his composure as injuries cause dismay for the squad and staff. In addition to producing overall consistently excellent display levels.

Retaining Tielemans’ services long-term was constantly a question amongst the King Power faithful; with some pundits discussing the 23-year-old’s potential leaving before he had even signed permanently for the east Midlands outfit.

Nevertheless, according to reports Tielemans and his team are in negotiations for a pay increase and longer contract at Leicester. And that eventual news will invariably be music to the Blue Army’s collective ears.
