Foxes of Leicester explains why two Leicester City players probably won’t be at the King Power club next season.

While the wing position and attacking midfielder role are rather understaffed on Filbert Way, some squad members in those areas will be sold, released, won’t have their loans reinstated or be signed permanently.

This is because the east Midlands side wants the best possible candidates to, hopefully, represent them in the Champions League in 2021/22. Even the peripheral or back-up athletes must be able to compete at that elite European level. Along with being up to standards in the most competitive domestic division on the planet, the Premier League.

Leicester’s summer transfer window is set to be a very interesting one: funds will apparently be available to Brendan Rodgers and his recruitment staff such as Lee Congerton. The Northern Irishman made it clear the club wants to sign an attacking midfielder, as well as the Foxes searching for an eventual Jamie Vardy replacement.

Two players who may depart Leicester City

First of all, read FoL’s piece about Wes Morgan and Christian Fuchs, because we predict their playing time with the Foxes may be coming to an end. But focus here is on two others.

Cengiz Under is obviously not technically a Leicester player, as he is on loan to the King Power outfit from Italian side Roma. Under is a talent, let’s get that straight before anything else!

Basically, with a longer run in the starting team – or beginning games consistently in any fashion – the Turkey international could well have produced some excellent displays for Leicester. As it stands, Under is thought to be returning; Sport Witness carries a story suggesting the wingman will go back to Italy at the season’s end.

A second Fox who’s arguably on the way out is Matty James:
