Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers held a video call with Foxes chairman Aiyawatt ‘Top’ Srivaddhanaprabha after making the FA Cup final.

With the visceral outpouring of emotion due to plans for a selfish and acquisitive European Super League, the actual sport and upcoming games seem to have been brushed aside. Well, life goes on, and before the ESL is scrapped – and it will be, mark my words! – Leicester find themselves at the business end of one of the most important moments in their history.

Ironically the Foxes’ exploits are arguably the main reason, alongside the coronavirus pandemic affecting revenue, that apparently forced these six greedy English clubs’ owners’ hands. In reality it’s a power grab case of “pull the ladder up, and stuff the rest of them”.

Yet I digress while simultaneously wanting to inform you that Foxes of Leicester will focus on the football. With regards to that, LCFC are one win away from triumph. And directly after Brendan Rodgers’ side made the cup final, he spoke with chairman Aiyawatt ‘Khun Top’ Srivaddhanaprabha by video call:

"“I’ve just spoken to Top there and he’s absolutely over the moon with getting to the final, and of course for the supporters.“He was absolutely delighted. He looked very, very happy. Of course, it’s the early hours of the morning as well, so he’s been up all night.“I’m just so pleased for him. He’s an incredible guy who’s suffered in these last few years, so to give him that joy and be able to get to the final, I’m very happy to be able to do that for him.”– Brendan RodgersVia lcfc.com"

Leicester City in the final

The latest Foxes hero, Kelechi Iheanacho, fired his team to the final of the competition with a rebounded effort at Wembley. Now the east Midlands side will play again at world football’s most respected and iconic ever venue where Leicester shall meet London outfit Chelsea.

Hot. The part LCFC played in creation of Super League. light

Naturally – as one of the currently despised ‘big six’ clubs – the Pensioners will be favourites, especially as they are far more organised under Thomas Tuchel as opposed to Frank Lampard. Yet it is unwise to write off Rodgers‘ men at any point – versus any XI!
