Leicester: Will Arsenal offer this player in exchange for Maddison?
Could Leicester City possibly be offered an exciting Arsenal player in a part exchange transfer for star playmaker James Maddison?
We are all aware that James Maddison is a special talent; I don’t believe even the most fervent ‘supporters’ with no profile photo on “FT” (football Twitter) could even disagree with that statement. Unless attempting to upset people purposely through deliberate obtuseness.
Maddison can take set pieces well; while not always successfully clearing the initial defender near the byline/six yard box area, but he has the capacity to be nearing the David Beckham-level will extreme focus. The former’s cultured passing and shooting is a joy to behold on his day.
There is even a year-old No.8 mentality in Maddison, developed by Brendan Rodgers and taken on by Gareth Southgate at the time. The playmaker is more of a No.10 but it is great to be versatile and have a close to complete skill set. Therefore it is no shock that clubs the size of Arsenal have made ‘Madders’ their top transfer target during this summer window.
It will presumably take a bid of north of £70 million for Maddison to be captured, because the Foxes declined an offer of that magnitude for their asset during the last off-season.
Now Express has encouraged Gunners’ Recruitment chiefs to conduct a part exchange with LCFC: £30m plus form player Joe Willock. If the King Power outfit can increase their fee up to £45m along with Willock, Foxes of Leicester would approve.
Plan for Leicester City starlet next season
Meanwhile, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall will return for senior Foxes training in July, when some of his Leicester teammates have finished competing in Euro2020. Dewsbury-Hall is expected to be scrutinised comprehensively by Brendan Rodgers and his coaching staff upon his arrival at LCFC’s Seagrave complex.
During his loan with Luton Town, the 22-year-old won widespread praise as he was lauded by the Hatters support, team members and coaches alike. Luton’s Assistant Manager Mick Harford goes so far as to suggest the midfielder could be the next Youri Tielemans, as outlined here.
