Leicester medical date set as Foxes join transfer race for playmaker
According to two reports, Leicester City have booked in a medical as the Foxes also join a transfer race for a Scottish playmaker.
Boubakary Soumare has been slightly out-headlined by the Foxes’ attention switch from Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard to Patson Daka. Though many in the know believe Soumare is another potentially tremendous addition to the Leicester side.
It’s only a matter of time until the French Under-21 player now joins. The latest report suggests the Lille title-winner will be announced by LCFC as a new £20million signing in around a week, which is by next Friday. Read more at The Sun.
A further transfer update now as the east Midlands outfit also want to sign the Hoops’ midfielder Ryan Christie. Christie played for Scotland versus Czech Republic at the European Championship, but only managed 46 minutes.
Daily Mail links Brendan Rodgers with desiring a reunion with his onetime player; although the King Power club face competition from Nice of Ligue 1 in France.
"Despite having an £8million bid for Christie turned down in January, Nice have revived their interest, with Ligue One rivals Monaco also believed to be chasing the midfielder.Stephen Mcgowan, Daily Mail"
Ozan Kabak to Leicester City?
Apparently Kabak, a former Liverpool loanee who was satisfactory in the Premier League, is available for a cut price deal. Kabak would become the second permanent Turkey international on Filbert Way currently, following Cengiz Under’s departure back to Rome after an unsuccessful loan spell. Under is a good player but was afforded few chances due to injury and other performers for Leicester.
The defender can reportedly be secured for a reduced fee because he hasn’t featured for the Turkish national team at Euro2020. LCFC are said to hold an interest in signing the centre-back who has a €25m pricetag, as per Sport Witness.
