Patson Daka has penned down a 5-year deal with Leicester City which runs until 2026 and will provide the much desired firepower upfront.

The Foxes supporters have been waiting for almost an eternity now for the club to announce awaited signings. All the trusted sources across the footballing media had already given a green signal for The Zambian International’s exciting transfer from RB Salzburg to Leicester. Now, finally Patson Daka has been announced by the club and he will be joining the first-team for the pre-season in July. In an interview he gave to the LCFC website, Daka confirmed Brendan Rodgers made it very easy for him to decide upon his future with the recent FA cup champions.

The former RB Salzburg’s striker has a phenomenal record of 34 goals in 48 games last season, in which 27 goals were in 28 games of Austrian’s Bundesliga. Henceforth, it is safe to say that finishing the play and feasting on goals is one of the hitman’s best attributes.

Style and stats of new Leicester City man

This recent signing by the club is something many fans have been calling for in the past. The 22-year-old is very similar striker to Jamie Vardy in his game-style if scrutinised closely: he possesses electric pace, an excellent composure to beat goalkeepers and has a 36.5% conversion rate – one of the best in top leagues of Europe.

The new signing from Salzburg has been used mostly in a 4-3-3 formation, mainly playing through the centre. However, at Leicester if the boss desires he can be utilized in a front two, partnering Vardy or Kelechi Iheanacho. This 3-4-1-2 formation was adapted by the manager when Harvey Barnes was ruled out after suffering the ligament injury. If the club from the Midlands does not sign a proper Right Winger, following the departure of Cengiz Under back to Roma, it would not surprise me if Daka is used at the formerly mentioned layout as a front trio accompanying Harvey Barnes and Jamie Vardy.

The fee for the latest signing is said to be near £23million; his record in Austria had been neck-and-neck with Erling Haaland in averaging goals-per-minute. Clearly Daka is set to be yet another steal and a fantastic job by the scouts of our club.
