Aside from two terrible home losses, Leicester City have more awful injury news. Harvey Barnes is set to be out for a while and needs surgery.

Consecutive defeats at King Power Stadium isn’t something that the Blue Army will want to get used to under Brendan Rodgers. Especially when the matches were as important as beating Slavia Prague in the Europa League, and then back in the Premier League against Arsenal.

Rearrangement of big six clubs takes a huge hit. While the Foxes still outrank their EPL rivals from North London by positioning, this 3-1 result is as much a negative for confidence as it is for Leicester’s top four-Champions League qualification hopes.

Let’s cross our collective fingers that Sunday’s outcome isn’t the beginning of a season ending decline for the east Midlands team, similarly to the dreadful run-in last season.

More problems for Leicester City

I’m sure you’re already aware that Leicester have mounting injury issues at present; currently sidelined are: Harvey Barnes, Jonny Evans, James Maddison, Wesley Fofana, Ayoze Perez, Dennis Praet, James Justin and club captain Wes Morgan.

Barnes and Evans were unfortunately the latest to sustain injuries, occurring versus the Gunners at the weekend. Rodgers provided an update after the game, saying the England international will be unavailable for a minimum of six weeks.

On the Northern Ireland man, his fellow countryman and gaffer said this:

"On the other injuries, Rodgers said Jonny Evans has a dead calf, which he’s been managing but got worse through today’s [game]. He’ll have a scan.BBC Sport"

It sounds like the centre-back will probably be OK, if I am reading the boss correctly. Yet the winger will possibly struggle to regain full fitness or the deadly productiveness he exhibited this season before 2020/21 ends.
