Supporters of Leicester City are already encouraged and excited by the signing of Zambian striker Patson Daka. However, an Austrian football expert expects the transition to be tough for the former RB Salzburg forward.

There is palpable anticipation amongst the Blue Army, in spite of the disappointment of consecutive Champions League qualification failure. Excellent signings such as Patson Daka and Boubakary Soumare, a fine manager as well as a new training ground equals constant modern optimism.

Though the past two seasons have not been unsuccessful, at all; while some may point to or reference “bottling” and presumed ineptness. Two successive entries into the Europa League along with a maiden FA Cup trophy win certainly equates to great success – I didn’t mean to quote Borat here, I promise – for the east Midlands outfit.

Daka’s addition makes for an even more encouraging campaign as the attacker is a ‘goal machine‘, we are told. Yet an expert on football in Austria suggests the transformation from Austrian Bundesliga star to Premier League notable may not be easy. That seems fairly obvious, but the reporter does make some rather good points.

Essentially CaughtOffside write that UEFA reporter Tom Middler, who also conducts podcast The Other Bundesliga, is unsure Daka will be successful at Leicester due to the competitive nature of the EPL. Whilst the writer simultaneously lauds the Zambia international’s pace and deadly goalscoring:

"“I think it could be a tough transition, and I’d expect that he [Daka] will spend a bit of time on the bench [to begin with]…”“He’s a good buy, well worth a go…it has simply been easy pickings [in the Austrian top-flight]. He’s not going to get that [in the EPL].”“…his finishing was pretty lethal here in the Bundesliga.”“I’d tip him to do well in the end, although I’m not sure the rest of the top 5 or 6 will be ruing the day that they passed him up…”– Tom Middler, via CaughtOffside"

Additionally, it has emerged that the ex-Salzburg man had to endure tragedy, and the way he dealt with it was inspiring and admirable. The Argus notes that following teammate Changwe Kalale’s untimely passing, Daka and another player raised money for charity and the community in a beautiful act of compassion.
