After a hard-fought penalty shoot-out victory against Brighton and Hove Albion on Tuesday, Leicester City look to continue their resurgent form against Arsenal on Saturday. The Gunners themselves are on an impressive unbeaten streak of eight games whilst the Foxes are looking to record their fifth consecutive victory.

Which Arsenal players will miss out?

Arsenal only have one definite absentee, with Granit Xhaka out until Christmas with a knee injury. In his absence, the Gunners will likely start with a midfield double pivot of Thomas Partey and Albert Sambi Lokonga who will vie with Youri Tielemans and Boubakary Soumaré for midfield dominance.

Potential absentees for the Leicester City game

Arsenal have a few players that are doubtful for the game according to Football London. Firstly, Scottish defender Kieran Tierney facing a late fitness test on a bruised ankle which has kept him out of action for the last two games. Similarly, Martin Odegaard missed out in Arsenal’s cup tie with a suspected injury, nevertheless, he’s likely to feature given Mikel Arteta’s comments.

Furthermore, BBC Sport has reported that a sickness bug has been going around the Arsenal camp during the week, confirmed by Arteta himself. This has cast doubt on the involvement of Ben White and Pablo Mari although don’t be too surprised to see either playing come Saturday lunchtime.

Expected opposition line-up:

(4-2-3-1):

Aaron Ramsdale

Takehiro Tomiyasu, Ben White, Gabriel, Nuno Tavares

Thomas Partey, Albert Sambi-Lokonga

Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith-Rowe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Alexandre Lacazette
