Brendan Rodgers has given a James Maddison injury update for Leicester City and Fantasy Premier League fans before the Foxes face Manchester United.

No wins in four outings with only one solitary point to show for it at the beginning of a Premier League campaign, is unacceptable. Realisation and panic set in early as Leicester drew with Brentford following the collapse of a two-goal lead. Not that LCFC’s fan base expected much in 2022/23, anyway.

There have been no signings, aside from a third choice goalkeeper. And the east Midlands side currently sit bottom of the English top-flight. All in all, the start to the season has been an unmitigated disaster.

Now the majority of supporters seem resigned to a relegation battle as the term progresses. Swathes of the Blue Army also want the increasingly frustrating and annoying Brendan Rodgers removed from the helm.

One piece of encouraging news is that Rodgers is hopeful of James Maddison’s involvement in the Manchester United match on Thursday evening. Maddison will be assessed on Wednesday.

Manchester United come to Leicester City’s King Power Stadium

Are Man United returning to their former selves under Erik ten Hag? It is far too early to know the answer to that question. However, in the space of a week, the Red Devils seem to be a different prospect altogether. Despite Liverpool’s injury issues and problems as they faced United, the rival club earned their convincing victory. Just look at what the Reds subsequently did to the now out of work Scott Parker and Bournemouth.

Rodgers briefly spoke about MUFC during his pre-match press conference, suggesting that a win for his Foxes is desperately needed, would be timely and could propel LCFC up the table. The Northern Irishman says three points will come, eventually. If that scenario happens versus ten Hag’s men, all the better, said Rodgers. He also believes his team shall have confidence for the contest.
