Barnes decides to leave Leicester and set to join this EPL club
Leicester City and England winger Harvey Barnes wants to leave the Foxes and is now set to join this Premier League club after weeks of speculation.
Despite appearing in LCFC‘s annual summer ‘back to training’ social media output, Barnes is likely the next player out of the door if you ask me. Unlike James Maddison, the winger isn’t ‘too good to play in the Championship’, but he is easily of Premier League standard. Barnes does deserve to remain in the English top-flight.
Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United want to sign the 25-year-old. Barnes is set to ‘snub’ the Magpies and Spurs for West Ham; a transfer is reportedly ‘close’.
As star prepares to leave, midfielder may arrive at Leicester City
Leicester have already conducted good business so far: the arrivals of Conor Coady as well as Harry Winks in plenty of time for preseason might be prudent perfection. Youri Tielemans was always going to leave and never even hinted at staying on Filbert Way, so that’s closure. I would like somebody slightly more combative in the midfield, especially this season in the Championship.
Offloading Maddison had to be done in spite of the loss of the most gifted Fox; he was clearly over-qualified for the second English division. With one-year left on his deal, up to £45million in addition to his contributions for the King Power club is just about palatable.
After free transfers, other departures and more expected to come – Dennis Praet, for example – holes are appearing in the LCFC squad. Defensive midfielder Hamza Choudhury has returned so that’s one gap filled, if he stays. I see Choudhury’s pugnaciousness along with experience in tier two vital for the upcoming campaign.
City have enquired about taking the rated and surely talented Cesare Casadei of Chelsea on a temporary basis for 2023/24. He is a 20-year-old box-to-box type who could be ideal as well; Casadei made 15 C’ship appearances for Reading last season.
