New Tottenham Hotspur star James Maddison recently talked about leaving Leicester City. Foxes of Leicester look at what the England international said, as it may shock or please some of the Blue Army. The midfielder actually revealed that leaving the Leicestershire side following a demoralising relegation will potentially ‘scar him forever’ in a recent interview.

Maddison was a good servant of LCFC, in my opinion as a supporter of the club. He was certainly one of the most naturally gifted footballers that have played for the home team at King Power Stadium or former Foxes ground Filbert Street. Some of his intricate play and swift sporting ingenuity was a pleasure to witness and describe for our lovely readers. Nevertheless, all good things come to an end in football, and ‘Madders’ moved on.

If any of the now exited Leicester players deserved a transfer back to the English top-flight – it was Maddison. I cannot blame Tottenham for snapping him up! The only surprise is that a bigger, more relevant contemporary team didn’t want him. For example, if I ran Manchester United’s recruitment I would have gone for the ex-Fox rather than Mason Mount. That hypothetical switch would have also saved the Red Devils approximately £15million.

Maybe it’ll be easier for some of the faithful as they probably won’t have to see their beloved team play against a onetime hero. If any fans of the King Power team are wondering, Maddison has spoken fondly or regretfully of his LCFC departure.

Upon ending his entertaining five-year association with the Foxes, the Three Lions man said he built a brilliant relationship with everyone associated with Leicester. He did not want the period to end on the ‘sour note’ that it did. He claims that the incident will ‘probably have scarred me forever’.
