Position: 16th. Goal difference: -1. Points after 18 games: 24. All in all, Marti Cifuentes' first few months at King Power Stadium were a disappointing mess. Albeit, it is easy to tell that the Catalan gaffer is committed, applies himself and desperately wants Leicester City Football Club to succeed. Nevertheless, LCFC must have a manager in place who doesn't just lead them back to the promised land of Premier League football - we must stay there too!

At this very moment, I am unsure whether or not the former Queens Park Rangers head coach is in fact the correct person to bring EPL football back to Leicestershire. However, should Cifuentes had even been given a half-decent transfer budget - things could have been different. Though under these difficult circumstances (the Foxes' financial troubles and possible restrictions after 'working with English Football League Championship bosses'), maybe a more demanding and 'old school' manager was more appropriate.

Irrespective of my views, many other people involved in the game now or in the past with greater experience than myself have weighed in on what's going on on Filbert Way. Let's hear what they have to say.

The latest from journalists and former professionals on Marti Cifuentes facing Leicester City dismissal

First of all, ex-Aston Villa, Birmingham City and Leicester City man Lee Hendrie. Hendrie is currently a Sky Sports pundit who isn't shy of giving his thoughts at all.

Hendrie actually believes the East Midlands outfit should retain Cifuentes' services -for now. He also hinted that City may have to stick with their current boss (presumably for financial reasons).

"I think that Leicester will know that they've got quality in the squad, and it's not good enough at the moment, but I think they have to stick with him."

Next up is once Arsenal backup man Adrian Clarke. He also asserts that the looming points deduction along with contemporary profit and sustainability parameters might perhaps mean the 43-year-old stays in Leicestershire.

"Adrian Clarke has claimed that financial struggles may be all that is keeping Marti Cifuentes as Leicester City manager right now."
Football League World

Meanwhile outlets such as Football League World constantly suggest alternatives to Cifuentes. Another suggestion is that the existing gaffer will be sacked should City lose their upcoming Derby County fixture. Mainstream media are, though, yet to forecast a sacking.

"Leicester City could be set to sack Marti Cifuentes if they do not secure a favourable result at Derby County this weekend, sources have told Football Insider."
