Leicester City Football Club may be in another slightly dark moment in their modern history. But it could all change so quickly. Form could, naturally, be turned around once again. Just look how quickly things turned bad, for instance, in just one mere week. Then, the King Power-owned outfit can somehow still realise promotion (in this season or the next) even if a worrying and looming points deduction indeed transpires.
Yep, this is absolutely wishful thinking on my behalf. But I am also trying to put the Blue Army fan base's woes into reality. We are not in as perilous a position on nor off the pitch as others I could mention here. Sheffield Wednesday, for one example. There could even conceivably be a change at the top of the organisation at some stage in the not too distant future.
Even LCFC head coach Marti Cifuentes isn't guaranteed to finish the campaign on Filbert Way. And the former AaB, Hammarby IF and Queens Park Rangers man (among many other clubs) has made a few surprise calls already. As a matter of fact, the Catalan's apparent 'favourite Fox' is an interesting choice. However, if the gaffer plans on making wholesale alterations soon, he probably won't be able to call on one young starlet. These are the six games a youthful but highly regarded Leicester teenager might miss whilst with England at the Under-17 World Cup.
Louis Page could be unavailable for these six games for Leicester City
I'm expecting Cifuentes to give youth a chance soon; Jake Evans, Bade Aluko and Page would be candidates. Unfortunately the latter will likely be in Qatar for a while. He may be absent for Blackburn Rovers, Middlesbrough, Norwich City, Stoke City, Southampton and Sheffield United.
Marti Cifuentes' surprise favourite Foxes
Cifuentes has placed monumental faith into inconsistent defender Jannik Vestergaard. The Dane has 'played every minute in the EFL Championship' for the 43-year-old in 2025/26.
"Luke Thomas looks set to defend his position in the Leicester City line-up after Marti Cifuentes named him “one of the best performers” this season."
Previously, the City boss nominated someone else as teacher's pet. Luke Thomas was oddly named one of the best LCFC performers.
