Leicester City's relatively young manager (aged 43) Marti Cifuentes is a principled man, certainly in a footballing sense. He is, invariably, somebody who wants to make an indelible impression on LCFC in his own image. Though every head coach, especially at this impressive level (one echelon away from the apex), has his own tenets or full blown philosophy.

Evidently and luckily enough for the Foxes hierarchy and supporters, the Catalan is already forging a new identity at King Power Stadium. It has long been said, all the way back to some of the darker days under Brendan Rodgers, that City require a fresh as well as bold and distinguishable profile.

"I'm just a small piece in the puzzle and trying to help the players. The game belongs to the players. No-one pays for a ticket to watch the manager."
Cifuentes

The 'Foxes Never Quit' moniker was starting to wear very thin after most of the warriors and preeminent, folkloric 'Incredibles' from 2016 all departed Filbert Way over the years. Former Leicester boss and current Chelsea man Enzo Maresca did create a new individuality for the East Midlands club. Although his sharp exit left the outfit and team in an awkward and untenable position.

"I would love to one day coach in the Premier League but I'm not obsessed about it. I want to make sure we create something for this club"
Cifuentes

Have the Leicestershire side now finally found style, substance and longevity under the ex-Queens Park Rangers gaffer? Possibly. From my perspective, the situation looks good; almost identical to the Maresca period at present. The entertaining bar could arguably be raised. Yet points are being accumulated satisfactorily - that's what matters! Here, Cifuentes tells the fan base exactly what to expect and I believe it is just what they want to hear.

While speaking to BBC Sport's 'When You're Smiling' podcasts, Cifuentes detailed his footballing credo. And he outlines pretty much everything he trusts and desires at City. Not to mention detailing how to improve. In my opinion, this is the right person for the job at the moment:

"We're in a results business and that's the way it is," Cifuentes told BBC Radio Leicester's When You're Smiling podcast.

"A big club like Leicester should be, as soon as possible, back in the Premier League - because that's where this club belongs.

"We need to do it in a way that is sustainable. Most important, for me, is creating an identity - not just in the way we play football, but how we build a sustainable club that has academy players coming through the system that can give us the edge.

"What kind of players do we recruit? Can we make the King Power [Stadium] a real fortress, so that we know - even in the Premier League - it's going to be a difficult place for teams to come to and get points?

"I'm a big believer in the process and the journey, and I'm enjoying it a lot."
