Christmas Day is only a few more sleeps away. Presents are being wrapped and food prepared for the most wonderful time of the year. But, ironically, this isn't traditionally a favourable time for Foxes fans as our specially scheduled December 25th article will explain. There is plenty of contemporary heartache for Leicester City Football Club, not to mention tough times in the past. We have also relinquished a sometimes useful player for now.

If you were not aware, LCFC have lost one of their strikers to the Africa Cup of Nations tournament; which is now underway. As a matter of fact, Patson Daka actually scored on his 2025 AFCON debut as his country, Zambia, drew with opponents Mali. The competition kicked off on Friday, December 21 with Morocco defeating Comoros national football team.

Though the Zambians had to wait until Monday in order to kick-off their campaign. And the Fox involved at Stade Mohammed V, Casablanca was really involved. Daka seemingly narrowly avoided a considerable neck injury after scoring his nation's opening AFCON goal. An acrobatic celebration, which I have included a link for, could have ended so much worse for the centre forward. Let's learn what occurred.

Patson Daka almost seriously hurt himself after bad fall - let's hope the Leicester City man did no damage

It looks as though Daka survived the awful landing, as explained and shown here via The Sun. Click if you wish to see the video of the incident - I wouldn't advise it, to be honest! I don't want to be a killjoy, but he should give up the backflips!

"LEICESTER star Patson Daka was lucky to avoid suffering a serious injury after landing on his NECK when he was celebrating scoring at the Africa Cup of Nations."
The Sun

It's funny, Daka has just become handy to the East Midlands team, even netting on Monday. He also actually scored a rare and important goal for City recently. So it is fairly typical that he had to serve his country at this particular moment. Although Foxes of Leicester wish him well, of course.
