The class of 2016, eh? There aren't many more well-loved and remembered groups from the entire Premier League era than Leicester City's English top flight title-winning team. Arsenal's unreal 'Invincibles' under Arsène Wenger in 2003-04 are another on the upper echelon of the game regarding mammoth achievement and standing.
What Pep Guardiola has done with his collective at Manchester City is incredible too. You can't leave Man United out of the EPL's history annals either. Even the previously parvenu Blackburn Rovers and owner 'Uncle' Jack Walker are worth a shout. That was another semi-miraculous sporting event, but not more so than the Foxes' triumph. Although, those latter sides were indeed expected to achieve greatness. They were well-prepared to win, financially backed and had the best coaches and staff available.
In the East Midlanders' case: the stars simply appeared to align as they have never done before. Why do I mention all this? Well, LCFC fan favourite Christian Fuchs may be returning to English football to manage Newport County. Alternatively, an Exiles coaching job is now seemingly on the cards. Allow me to explain.
Leicester City hero Christian Fuchs could return to English football to manage EFL Two outfit Newport County
Here at Foxes of Leicester, we'd love to see Fuchs back in England. Even if our team and his are in separate divisions, a reunion of sorts would be nice.
The former Austria National Team captain was an underrated member of the fabled City side. He provided necessary experience, calm and composure. Not to mention a technical left foot gifted from the Gods.
Who could forget his rocket of a goal versus Crystal Palace, or the Fleetwood Town effort in the Carabao Cup?! Now the 39-year-old may be returning to our shores in some capacity:
