Belgium international Wout Faes was linked with an exit from Leicester City Football Club over at least the previous two summers. Even though he'd only been with the Foxes a short while at that time, LCFC's Blue Army fan base appeared to have made their collective minds up regarding the centre back's suitability for the Leicestershire side's back line. Evidently, the general consensus was unfavorable for Faes.

Since then, which was around two seasons ago or longer, as I say, the defender has been in and out of various King Power teams. That fluctuating status was earned under two or three different Leicester managers over that period as well. So instability on and off the field of play has dogged the instantly noticeable footballer.

As a matter of fact the Faes roller coaster, which has been stationed in the East Midlands since 2022, is on an upwards trajectory at the moment. Under latest City head coach Marti Cifuentes, the 27-year-old initially found himself not selected. Though the former Anderlecht youth player has now solidified a current partnership with fellow up and down defensive man, Jannik Vestergaard. Nonetheless, hearsay and uncertainty remains for Faes. Anyway, has his potential next club been named amid a rumoured transfer in the January window?

Is Besiktas in Turkey the next place for Leicester City's Wout Faes?

Faes is proving to be useful in 2025/26 so far. So my vote is to keep him in the LCFC starting XI at present. Yet I wouldn't be too shocked or upset if the Belgian was targeted in the New Year.

Though City must ensure they have viable replacements among the roster. Ben Nelson could possibly step up in that regard.

Alternatively, Leicester's recruitment staff might perhaps target a new CB. We can only dream. So, what's the latest rumour about Faes?

"Should an agreement for [Chelsea's Axel] Disasi prove difficult, Beşiktaş will turn its attention to Wout Faes, the Belgian international currently playing for Leicester City in the Championship.

Faes is a familiar target for the club, which made an official approach for the 27-year-old during the previous summer transfer window. "
