Leicester City fans only have to stomach the current iteration of the Foxes for one more Championship game, and then the 2025/26 season is officially over.
It has been a shambles, as far back as when Marti Cifuentes was at the helm, and Gary Rowett, despite having a reputation for being a firefighter as a manager, has been a disaster too, with only one win in charge, sinking the ship.
Both of the failed managers in question have, obviously, been let down by far too many underperformers on the pitch, with Leicester fans wanting to see the back of Harry Winks, a lot more than other players, for his lifeless performances, but also his arrogant personality.
Leicester must part ways with Winks
Originally purchased for £10m in the summer of 2023, Winks was a flashy signing that arrived to the King Power, to help Leicester immediately get back in the Premier League.
He did help Enzo Maresca's men to achieve that aim, with a 94% pass accuracy average during Leicester's title-winning exploits, showing off a classy midfield star who used to call the Premier League home.
But, now, he has very little credit left in his bank, with the expensive number eight looking disinterested for most of this campaign.
It all came to a head after Leicester lost 1-0 away at Portsmouth earlier in April, which effectively sealed the Foxes' relegation to League One, as Winks explosively clashed with travelling supporters when boarding the coach back to the King Power.
With a mass clearout expected this summer, Winks will surely be at the top of the list to get rid of, with reports constantly stating that the ex-Tottenham Hotspur battler is on a lavish £90k-per-week pay packet.
The Athletic has now come out to offer a more concrete look at his wage costs, as his real salary costs have been revealed.
Regardless of these updated findings, though, he has burnt too many bridges, and must be offloaded in the summer.
Winks' salary costs revealed
The Athletic has come out to state, among other findings to do with Winks' Leicester career, that the still overpaid midfielder rakes in a wage more in line with a £45k-per-week salary.
This is a crazy amount to be paying a player who will be calling League One home next season, with Leicester needing to cash in, arguably, so Winks can't roll down his contract, with one year left on his bumper King Power deal.
It had been reported that the likes of Wrexham have been taking a lot of interest in the one-time England international, and with the Red Dragons' lavish spending well known, it wouldn't be a shock to see Winks call the Welsh outfit his new club, post-Leicester.
Rowett has a decision to make as to whether he will play Winks - who is public enemy number one - or not when Leicester travel to Blackburn on the weekend.
Already subject to plenty of Leicester vitriol this season, he might not be thrown into the match at Ewood Park, as Winks' statement move, which has turned into a nightmare switch, looks to be very nearly over.
