Leicester City look destined now to succumb to their miserable fate of back-to-back relegations.
No wins across their last five Championship games have really shoved the Foxes further into the relegation pits, with a stinging 1-0 defeat at home to Swansea City, last time out, leaving them four points adrift of safety.
The summer is already on the horizon, therefore, with plenty of Leicester players surely being moved on, after a disastrous campaign.
Leicester will need to move on several players
Of course, Leicester will be looking to move on several first-team players due to their ongoing uninspiring performances.
Indeed, Patson Daka will likely walk away from the King Power in the off-season, as he has failed to be a clinical striker in the Championship, with only six strikes put away from 40 appearances.
But, the relegation-doomed Foxes will also need to move on players financially, who are burning a hole in their pocket, despite putting in such regularly abject displays.
It's reported that Hamza Choudhury, for example, is pocketing an outrageous £50k-per-week pay packet currently, despite his displays often bordering on being lifeless and inspid from the middle of the park.
A clearout of these high earners, who clearly aren't giving their all, is a must, with Ricardo Pereira also surely needing to be let go of, having visibly declined at Leicester over recent years.
The £80k-per-week defender is nowhere near the heights of his Premier League prime anymore, so the long-standing King Power ties must be severed shortly.
Harry Winks is the highest earner of them all, allegedly, at a whopping £90k-per-week pay packet, with the ex-Tottenham Hotspur midfielder wanting to hop off the sinking ship, you imagine, in the summer, as interest emerges for his services.
Why Leicester must cash in on Winks
Of course, despite his relationship with the Foxes masses now turning sour, Winks hasn't been a complete waste of time donning Leicester blue over the years.
Indeed, he started 45 Championship games during Enzo Maresca's title-winning heroics, with two goals collected.
But, for the mighty £10m they splashed out on the 30-year-old in the summer of 2023, a lot more would have been expected of him, as he has cowered into the background at points this season, when times have been tough.
He did win seven duels and four tackles against the Swans, but just hasn't offered this grit and fight all campaign long, when his team has needed it, with only one sorry duel won during the disappointing 1-1 draw against Sheffield Wednesday.
Moreover, his quality on the ball has been lacking, with only one goal contribution notched up across his last ten Championship games, as Winks has often become a passenger in crunch contests.
It's a no-brainer, therefore, that Leicester will look to get rid of Winks, when the drama of the summer transfer window reopens, with football outlet SportsBoom indicating that Wrexham is looking at the former £10m buy.
Burnley are even noted as looking at the Leicester number eight, but Wrexham does read like a plausible next destination, as the Red Dragons love a former Premier League star, who is winding down their career.
It hasn't worked out for Winks whatsoever at the King Power this season, as he is likely one of many fire sales in the summer, if Leicester fall depressingly down to League One.
