There were exits galore on Filbert Way over the previous couple of months. Newsworthy events started the summer off with Jamie Vardy, Daniel Iversen and Danny Ward exiting fast. Then things were slow at King Power Stadium for a good while there. Finally Leicester City made a signing - but it wasn't an addition that set the Championship alight. LCFC did, however, add an experienced and inexpensive goalkeeper to Marti Cifuentes' roster.
The procession of outgoing Foxes began again around that time as well. City started to offload overvalued personnel for good money: James Justin was one of those particular leavers. Unfortunately, the LCFC powers-that-be did then commission a couple of harder to take departures. The ownership seemingly and reportedly did this to balance their books and make Profit and Sustainability less of a problem going forward.
The Blue Army fan base didn't want to see Mads Hermansen, a quality and Premier League-level goalkeeper, go. Though the Dane did eventually join EPL team West Ham United. Bilal was the other star who left; his move to VfB Stuttgart wasn't smooth due to his immaturity. But we move on.
While supporters presumably now anticipate that the squad is locked in, there could be a shock in store. That's because personnel can still go even though the Foxes cannot pay for signings anymore. And this high profile Leicester player may still leave with a transfer speculated.
High profile Leicester City player Wout Faes may still get transfer out
As Leicester Mercury writer Jordan Blackwell rightly said recently, 'the drama isn't over at Leicester yet'. Faes remains on the chopping board.
The Belgian press believe the centre back's been given time off National Team duties to complete a move. His oddball international gaffer certainly wants Faes to leave City:
"He will have to change. We hope that he will play again for a good club and that he can apply for a future position with us."Rudi Garcia
I would be surprised if LCFC allowed his departure before January. Wolfsburg, Besiktas and Lille were said to be interested parties.
"Reports in Belgium suggest Wout Faes could still seek an exit, with the centre-back having been left out of the national squad so that he could earn a move away."Leicester Mercury
