New Leicester City head coach Marti Cifuentes is doing a good job with what is at his disposal at King Power Stadium, as I see the complicated situation. The former Queens Park Rangers gaffer hasn't got everything right. Although compared to most managers would have done, the 43-year-old got many elements correct . A fresh culture is apparent on Filbert Way, and it is one we can get behind here. Even the annoying, underperforming and overrated (we still possess a few of these types of people, but not an unmanageable amount) were sold for decent money and profit in a few instances.
All this means Cifuentes has a chance to work alongside a smaller, more committed and younger squad that is capable of mounting a serious charge towards Premier League football. Obviously one or two appropriate or key signings on deadline day would enhance the roster superbly. We won't hold our breath for marquee additions in that respect. However, a cheap loan or two, a free transfer and a few million quid on a new striker isn't too much for the Blue Army to request. And that sentiment especially applies when considering the, at least, £50 million the King Power owners have accumulated over the summer. Evidently Cifuentes has defined Leicester's new identity regardless.
How Marti Cifuentes defines Leicester City's new identity
The Catalan boss said he was 'pleased to see signs of an up to date culture' at LCFC following the Birmingham City triumph on Friday evening. Beating a good team, which is never easy to do he claims, has spurred the manager on.
"Overall, from the performance there are a lot of things we can improve but the main thing for me is about building culture and identity.
"I see that the players care, and they are showing desire and commitment and the spirit we want to have as a foundation which is very positive."
Cifuentes cited his side's care, desire and commitment on the day. He believes a 'spirited foundation' is developing fast. Essentially City's main man is excited and satisfied with the positivity he is seeing at LCFC. And long may it continue, says Foxes of Leicester!
