We detail and then subsequently explain why a formerly high profile Leicester City player was heckled upon his return to King Power Stadium. The Foxes supporters actually reportedly booed the former City star's performance and jeered as the visiting footballer went down with a suspected injury. This incident in particular left some in attention, not to mention journalists and bloggers, surprised.

But I am unsurprised and it is not a shocking or dangerous instance whatsoever. The whole scenario is more akin to pantomime and general harsh-appearing English banter. So, which baller was at the centre of the situation? What exactly happened on the day? What did the away head coach, also once an LCFC staff member, claim about the matter? And what do we make of it all?

Foxes fans booed ex-City winger Demarai Gray as he returned with West Midlands team Birmingham City

Maybe my description of former Leicester man Demarai Gray as a "star" was inaccurate upon second evaluation. He was a standout Fox, but not always for the right reasons.

The 29-year-old was one who appeared to be a potential troublemaker, or thoroughly independent. Someone who never reached the heights his ability promised; a lack of dedication and concentration was possibly at fault.

But Gray is remembered fondly by some of us in the Blue Army for scoring and appropriately celebrating the first goal after late LCFC chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha passed. That didn't stop the boos as BCFC visited LE2.

Ex-Leicester City coach and current Blues boss Chris Davies on what occurred

Certain City supporters also apparently chanted "Leicester reject" in chorus about the player. I'm not sure Gray deserved that, to be honest. Though City spectators are allowed to voice their feelings. Alcohol probably pays a part, yet I don't see too much harm here.

"Birmingham City manager Chris Davies has admitted he was surprised by Demarai Gray's reception from the stands at Leicester City during Friday night's Championship game. (quote) "Sometimes when they are like that with you, it's mainly through a little bit of trepidation," the Birmingham boss said. "They know he's a good player."
