The last week was a difficult one for former Leicester City head coach Brendan Rodgers. Rodgers was, you see, back at Celtic for another stint. Though his latest tenure with the Hoops up in Glasgow didn't go according to plan. You see, Rodgers and the Celtic Park crowd are used to winning. Being successful appears to come easy for the Scottish Premiership side.
I won't mention anything about the weak and sometimes embarrassingly low quality of the division overall because I know the Scots don't appreciate it too much! Needless to say, Rodgers would be more challenged back in the English Premier League. Although one of the 52-year-old's former employers wasn't best pleased with the ex-Bhoys head coach.
The latter received harsh appearing yet potentially accurate criticism for divisiveness from the largest shareholder of the club in Scotland upon exit from the outfit. Fans too accused Rodgers of leaving, not a sinking ship, but a vessel not on course for its usual destination. Heart of Midlothian (or Hearts) are actually giving the legendary green and white team a run for their money this year. Making Rodgers' resignation seem cowardly at worst, or arguably, perfunctory at best.
So, all this means Rodgers may not be a great candidate to make a Foxes comeback if currently under pressure Marti Cifuentes is eventually relieved of duty. But is the ex-LCFC gaffer even linked with a Leicester return or any other organisations? Let's check the rumour mill.
Brendan Rodgers' possible next club named but no connection to Leicester City yet
At present, Rodgers isn't linked with the top City job. Of course, Cifuentes remains in the position (for now).
Rumour has it the Catalan is under scrutiny from the Leicester powers-that-be after a downturn in results.results. Elsewhere, bookmakers do expctect the Northern Irishman to come back to England; he's favourite for the Wolverhampton Wanderers role. But where else is mentioned?:
"Well, Brendan might just find himself driving a Bentley convertible soon, because from what I hear, he's heading to Saudi.Alan Brazil, talkSPORT
Brazil continued: “That's the rumour."
