Is Stolarczyk or Vieites No.1 as other keeper Leicester bid for named?

The transfer window has been shut for almost a week now. Consequently people are still dealing with the ratifications and, at some clubs, detritus. Overall, Leicester City Football Club is now stronger on and off the pitch. Marti Cifuentes is a seemingly astute appointment at this stage. Foxes fans will (hopefully not) learn how good the former Queens Park Rangers manager is if things get bad on the field of play. The Catalan is known as a head coach unafraid to alter elements in order to succeed and find elusive stability.

The East Midlands side actually managed to strengthen their squad in exactly the right areas thanks to five pinpoint and almost surgical additions to the roster, funnily enough! I say that because LCFC are known to be one of the most disorganised as well as dysfunctional organisations around at the moment. So this contemporary evolution is hopefully the u-turn City's Blue Army fan base longed for.

Nevertheless, the King Power team's recruitment department were said to have other targets on their summer shortlist. Apparently Leicester tried to sign this goalkeeper before ex-Real Betis stopper Fran Vieites arrived as Jakub Stolarczyk's backup.

It appears that Fran Vieites will be Jakub Stolarczyk's No.2

The Leicestershire side's support was pleasantly surprised when the club quietly announced the unknown signing of Vieites. Although, according to Leicester Mercury, the new Foxes goalie is to be Stolarczyk's deputy. This naturally means that also new man Asmir Begovic will fall to third-choice.

Which 'keeper did Leicester City originally want?

City bosses either changed their minds and were put off or rejected in their advances for Jonas Omlin. They did make an approach for Borussia Mönchengladbach man:

"City had tried to sign a goalkeeper in the latter days of the window, targeting Swiss international Jonas Omlin at Borussia Monchengladbach."

Although that supposed transfer collapse is probably explainable. LCFC didn't want to spend, or not outlay much anyway. Omlin would have come with a price tag, unlike Vieites.
