Nowadays, we know what players eat for breakfast, what cars they drive, how fast they run, what they weigh. Not to mention every little statistic like recoveries made or how many times they even touch the ball in each match being widely published. As supporters and spectors, we can and do now know almost everything.
And I didn't even get a chance to touch on what evidently 'In The Know' reporters disclose on a daily basis. Well-known, generally respected and certainly influential journalists such as Fabrizio Romano, David Ornstein and many others now reveal every single detail about prospective arrivals at clubs before anyone else. They break stories.
So, even though we all like to be footballing oracles and even mystics within our own circles and fan bases, having a nice surprise for a change was a bit of a shock. That's because one Leicester City acquisition seemingly came out of nowhere. With the aforementioned infallible authorities not releasing information. Alternatively and shockingly - they just didn't know about these proceedings. What's the world coming to?!
Why can't all transfers be like this? - Leicester City fans laud Francisco Vieites signing
First of all, and what matters most of all, Vieites could actually be a very good goalkeeping addition at King Power Stadium. Firstly we merely want competent personnel on Filbert Way.
The 26-year-old featured for Real Betis in the UEFA Conference League last season so is clearly someone with ability. So that's the physical aspect out of the way.
Secondly, he was signed for free on a two-year contract. This is a real bonus for LCFC. Everyone is aware of City's money and Profit and Sustainability issues at present.
So, how did Leicester fans react? Pleasantly surprised, as you can imagine. Underneath this paragraph are a few examples of comments from Foxes supporters. It's refreshing to hear too.
No links or anything just how it used to be😍
