Could Leicester City possibly suffer a season back in the Championship as bad as the campaign just endured in the Premier League? If the Foxes cannot buy the prerequisite players required to gain promotion, possibly. If LCFC choose to or are forced to sell a large portion of their squad - anything could happen! The East Midlanders are at risk of losing 12 senior stars and consequently relying on hope.
Everyone even remotely interested in English football knows City has almost been run into the ground in the current era. Plasters were placed over problems that are now coming back to haunt the King Power ownership. The main part of any club is its roster of players, along with loyal supporters. And it seems as though the Foxes will probably have a totally different squad complexion in the Championship next season.
Due to the aforementioned mess LCFC is in, the starting lineup and substitutes could go either way. The outfit might, hopefully, be strengthened whilst retaining its superior assets. Young starlets may also be promoted or given more time to blossom, creating a balanced and potent side. What I describe there is, of course, the ideal scenario with which to attack the year.
On the other hand, and worryingly, City could plausibly be stripped of their prominent ballers first of all. No transfers could transpire for a number of reasons. Alternatively minimal, basic incomings could materialise on Filbert Way. It is not out of the question that some or all of Leicester's prospects fail to impact the first team too. Though that eventuality is unlikely judging by Foxes pedigree and track record.
Leicester City at risk of losing 12 stars and relying on hope for testing term
These are the dozen senior squad members who could reportedly leave: Mads Hermansen, Jannik Vestergaard, Conor Coady, Wout Faes, Victor Kristiansen, Wilfred Ndidi, Oliver Skipp, Harry Winks, Boubakary Soumare, Jordan Ayew, Bilal El Khannouss and Patson Daka. What would LCFC become if even half departed and no signings emerge because of PSR mishaps?
