Restless fans in Leicestershire, and there are many in that growing category, will be partially relieved and slightly worried at the latest bombshell news (or rumour) that appears to be emerging from King Power Stadium. Preseason is not too far away now, so having no manager at Leicester City is more than a concern; it is, as previously stated, an indictment of the King Power International Group who 'own' and run LCFC.

They, along with chief football officer Jon Rudkin and Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha as chairman, have proven themselves to be incapable of leading the club over the last four or five years. As a matter of fact, multiple relegations in recent seasons have left many Foxes fans desiring a change in ownership.

However, it seems Top, as Srivaddhanaprabha is also known, wishes to retain the organisation and attempt to place it back onto a similar echelon it occupied when his father was in charge. Naturally, Top will need a capable team manager to facilitate such an ambitious transformation.

Has the next Leicester City manager finally been revealed as Russell Martin?

It appears that ex-Peterborough United head coach Darren Ferguson will be going elsewhere. A development that will likely placate the significant portion of the Blue Army who harbored reservations regarding the son of legendary Manchester United boss, Sir Alex Ferguson.

Christian Fuchs, the Premier League title-winning former Fox, was also mentioned by BBC Sport. Yet that appointment appears increasingly unlikely, thanks to a follow-up from, yep, BBC Sport.

Now, it seems as though former Southampton and Rangers manager Russell Martin is set to win the race for the managerial hot seat. Although few in the LE2 fan base appear enamored with that particular selection, Martin does, nevertheless, possess a commendable record within the lower tiers of the football league.
