We are briefly looking at Leicester City commerce for the latest piece on the site. We are in the middle of a busy schedule at present, following the draw at West Bromwich Albion's The Hawthorns on Friday. Subsequently, the Foxes will face currently popular Championship side Wrexham. The Red Dragons are mostly in vogue due to Ryan Reynolds' involvement. And not a whole lot else raised their profile out of nowhere apart from fairly prudent practices over the previous couple of years.

You can read more on the upcoming contest with the Welsh outfit by clicking here. However, we do want to very quickly step away from actual sport to check up on LCFC's finances. Not to mention learning how money generated at King Power Stadium at the moment compares to other tier two teams. It has been claimed, somewhat surprisingly, that the East Midlands club are not currently the highest earning club in the Championship.

OK - but then which organisation is generating funds on a larger scale? I am now intrigued to know the answer to that question. In addition to that, we will discover which club makes the created the least profit.

Leicester City aren't currently highest earners in Championship division

I was a bit shocked to read that Sheffield United have earned more than Leicester so far in 2025/26 for the league. The Foxes' numbers are as follows: turnover £105.3m; broadcast rights revenues (£54.2m) and sponsorship revenues (£21.5m); gate receipts £18.4m.

Obviously the amounts decrease as a club drops down to the C'ship. Yet another reason for this season to be success.

Third on the list are fellow relegated side Southampton. Norwich and Watford are fourth and fifth in the running, respectively.

"24. Oxford United

At the bottom of the rankings is Oxford United, who were promoted at the end of the 2023/24 season. It reported a pre-tax loss of £15.9m on turnover of £8.44m, making the South East team the lowest revenue generators in the league."

From 21st to 24th, the bottom teams are thus: Preston North End, Portsmouth, Charlton Athletic and lastly, Oxford United are the lowest revenue generators.
