Everyone and their dog knows that the vast majority of Leicester City's top talent will be sold this summer. It is certainly time for the Blue Army to face the stark facts of a lower league placement, however painful that reality may be.
The only remaining questions are, first of all, whether the King Power hierarchy can extract true value or even generate profit. Of course, the LE2 club require significant capital in order to reinvent itself.
Indeed, Foxes fans must brace themselves ahead of seeing an almost entirely different squad next season. Yet with change comes opportunity.
Therefore, the City recruitment team must remain on its toes for last-minute, opportunistic offers. Much like they were browsing for a bargain on a food delivery app such as Deliveroo or FoodHub!
Cash must be raised then, hopefully, smartly reinvested to bolster the ranks. A potentially false £10 million war chest was previously touted as the benchmark.
Abdul Fatawu news as Leicester City face wait
Selling standout wingman Abdul Fatawu will undoubtedly create the necessary funds. Though perhaps not as much as his now effectively defunct, mooted £30 million release clause previously suggested.
The 22-year-old, who tallied nine goals and seven assists during the 2025–26 EFL Championship term, is currently valued at lower by Transfermarkt. Meanwhile Besiktas' reported €15m offer has been described as 'insulting'; it is predicted that this disrespectful bid will be swiftly declined by the City hierarchy.
A price of just €15m (£12.9m) is what Besiktas are reportedly willing to offer for Abdul Fatawu. A good World Cup will drive that fee up, even slightly.

But that figure should be rejected with no hesitation by Leicester City. #LCFC https://t.co/T7wtKVRARH
Fatawu is currently representing Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America. The Black Stars have been drawn into a formidable Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama.
The Ghanaians' campaign begins against Panama on Thursday, June 18 in Toronto, followed by a high-stakes clash against England on Tuesday, June 23 in Boston. They conclude their opening phase against Croatia. Saturday, June 27 in Philadelphia is the date and place for that one.
