Leicester City have no recognised senior striker in the squad since Patson Daka and Jordan Ayew left as the season ended. Of course, Foxes fans won't remember either of those now-former players fondly at all.

Only one or two important goals were netted by each individual, and far too few impactful moments were recorded. Yet a recruitment department getting it wrong is better than having no goalscorers whatsoever.

"More is lost by indecision than by wrong decision", so the (occasionally questionable) stoic philosophy most widely attributed to Roman statesman Marcus Tullius Cicero goes. The point there: free agents are readily available on the market and LCFC have neither arranged nor secured even one of them.

Indeed, and most worryingly, rival League One sides such as Sheffield Wednesday have already added to their rosters amid renewed backing. At present, the East Midlands outfit are linked with myriad prospective signings; most, if not all, have been covered and evaluated on Foxes of Leicester's Transfer Rumour section, accessible by clicking here.

Midfielder Ryan Wintle, for example; not to mention Conor Chaplin, who has reportedly been offered or even accepted a King Power contract. But back to the Leicestershire team's centre forward issue; and, trust this outlet - this is a significantly concerning situation.

Naturally, there are a couple of young forwards at City: Lorenz Hutchinson and Jake Evans are two Seagrave notables. However, neither are considered ready to lead the line as of yet; they may be heavily involved as substitutes next season.
Naturally one or two senior attackers will eventually be secured, it is just that striking (pun intended) whilst the iron is hot is preferable for an organisation totally reorganising like the LE2 club.

Who's coming to Leicester City?

So, are any strikers actually connected with actually arriving on Filbert Way? Yes, Plymouth Argyle centre forward Lorent Tolaj is one man apparently on the shortlist.

Davis Keillor-Dunn, who is currently out of favour at Wrexham, is another who could reportedly add firepower to the Foxes. A versatile and industrious operator, the Sunderland-born player has proven himself a prolific threat in the football league, having notably netted 22 league goals for Mansfield Town in 2023–24, and 13 for Barnsley the following campaign.

The Star

The 28-year-old style is defined by sharp movement and clinical finishing, making him an intelligent presence in the final third. With over 100 career goals to his name, he brings a level of consistency and experience that would provide vital reinforcement for a Foxes side looking to completely reshape their frontline.

Adding such a proven quantity appears a realistic and potentially successful addition to galvanise the current Leicester attack. The right-footer has one promotion on his résumé.
