There is, apparently, no need for Leicester City fans to worry whatsoever as one of their most cherished stars was not selected for international duty over this fortnight. Domestic football is inactive at the moment, sadly. That's because National Teams all around the world are asking their outstanding talent to return for global footballing combat.
In spite of LCFC ultimately being in England's second division (for the time being), there are a plethora of quality Foxes, world class in fact, who are chosen to represent their respective countries. In addition to those senior, eminent City talents, lots of up-and-coming starlets of the Seagrave centre are with youth sides, such as England Under-17s.
That youthful pride is currently in Qatar competing in their age group's World Cup. But one standout Fox is not with his usual homeland teammates at present. That man is City winger extraordinaire Abdul Fatawu. Fatawu, along with compatriot and Leicester attacker Jordan Ayew, were both omitted from the Ghana squad this week. But why? Are they injured? Let's see what's been said on the matter.
Why are Jordan Ayew and Abdul Fatawu back at Leicester City's training ground?
Ordinarily, both Fatawu and Ayew would represent their country. The Ghanaians are a significant part or the collective. However, Leicester Mercury report that the pair are back training at Seagrave right now.
That's if Marti Cifuentes has permitted practice in the awful weather we are suffering in the East Midlands just now! Anyway, what's the reason for their separate absences?
Well, the outlet suggests this is a 'selection' situation as opposed to an 'injury' scenario. Thank the Lord for that news, Blue Army! Ghana have qualified for the World Cup: the duo were likely allowed to miss these friendlies.
"Abdul Fatawu and Jordan Ayew, who were both left out of the Ghana squad, are in City training as normal. It’s selection rather than injuries"Leicester Mercury
Losing Fatawu at this stage and with Leicester's mounting injury and performance problems would have been tough to take. That hypothetical circumstance could have been the final nail in the promotion push.
