Offloading 'talent' (a word that should be outlawed when speaking of the many outrageously bad Foxes who have graced King Power Stadium in contemporary times) is an unavoidable imperative this offseason. Once those players with exorbitant salaries have been ushered toward the exit, the subsequent concern is to identify inexpensive, underappreciated recruits capable of reinvigorating the squad. In addition to getting rid of 'so-called' deadwood.

Deciding which free transfers and tactical loans to gamble upon is another vital element the East Midlanders must navigate during the preseason, or preferably before, to steal a march on their divisional rivals. The delicate promotion of homegrown youngsters, alongside comprehensive appraisals of their readiness for senior football, remain ready and waiting to be addressed. Although, the Leicestershire side faces the grim prospect of losing one or two of these jewels. Louis Page and Jeremy Monga are both, respectively, linked with difficult-to-decline moves to Manchester United.

Monga, in particular, appears destined to depart Leicester; whether the Red Devils eventually snatch him away remains a matter of intense speculation. However, United may have to part with as much as £15 million for the Coventry-born prodigy once his reported automatic professional contract commences in July.

"According to the Manchester Evening News, United have held talks with Leicester over a possible move for Monga.

It is understood that interested clubs have been informed of a £15 million price tag for the player."

That particular figure would be invaluable to the City coffers right now, especially with a root-and-branch rebuild deemed entirely necessary. Losing a talent as luminous as Monga is never a simplistic matter, nonetheless. But, hypothetically, the resulting pure profit is undeniable and, perhaps, even essential to the the Foxes' long-term sustainability.
