This Leicester City team has been let off the hook by quite a few folks, even some of the more well-informed Foxes fans out there. For example, everyone knows that LCFC have arguably and consistently appointed the wrong person as manager in every case since Brendan Rodgers left Leicestershire.
Even the Northern Irishman should have been sacked well before he ultimately was; stubbornness, counterproductive intuition and generally embarrassing the club on the pitch were his informal charges. Immortality as the initial FA Cup-winner was the paradoxical Rodgers saviour in that respect.
​In addition to bosses being inappropriate or kept overly long, the aforementioned hierarchy is a disgrace. Unqualified and seemingly directionless, the powers-that-be at LCFC have essentially hit the equivalent of football's red button - inducing a freefall that feels tragically comedic along with avoidable.
Yet those in the boardroom do not kick a ball - the pretty awful to the core City squad do that; well, they try. This group, a collection of unprepared mercenaries on average, has prioritiously served their own interests over the badge. A bunch of imposters lacking the visceral connection to Filbert Way that once defined a great institution.
​Therefore, mediocre management, an objectionable owner and a counterproductive chief football officer are not the only problems. The rot permeates the pitch itself.
