Leicester City have reportedly been active in the transfer market ahead of the official opening on June 1. Preparations are already underway on Filbert Way before the 2025/26 season back in the Championship begins. And Foxes fans will be pleased to hear that the King Power outfit are actively seeking a new striker.

The East Midlanders are apparently making their first attempts to sign a new centre forward since the immeasurably impactful Jamie Vardy exited through their doors. Although, this target might perhaps not be a like for like exchange for the exiting Vardy. Let's learn what being said of the situation.

Leicester City legend has no shortage of offers for his services

If we believe reporting on the matter, Vardy has the choice to switch to two separate continents and about five different countries. He's wanted in Spain's LaLiga, The Scottish Premiership, Italy and in the United States' Major League Soccer division.

Alternatively, reports suggest Vards could end up just staying in the Premier League. Or a more unlikely eventuality is that the retired England international will join a Championship team. I say unlikely because I can't see him technically working against City's charge for EPL re-entry.

Foxes must replace Jamie Vardy somehow - is teenage striker Abdoul Karim Traore the answer?

Replacing the irreplaceable is a futile task of course. But someone's got to play up front for Leicester. Is a replacement available in-house? Probably not. Patson Daka is inept in that regard; Jake Evans remains too young for the task in spite of speculation there.

Traore is another who is arguably slightly youthful to take on Vardy's mantle. Nevertheless, LCFC have ostensibly made a bid for the 18-year-old.

The Bourg-en-Bresse man can plausibly be placed into the 'one for the future' category. Evidently, City have a great reputation for developing talent. Though an elder striker will no doubt also arrive this summer.
