According to a report emanating from the United Kingdom (I think, it was specifically hard to track this apparent and fairly new source of insider sporting news) Leicester City Football Club are planning to sell in January. This is when the winter market shall reopen for sides wanting to complete transactions again. Hopefully LCFC are finally getting thier financial act together!
The East Midlands outfit's bosses are pretty obviously still attempting to balance the books. Not to mention trying to give themselves leeway and the capacity to sign personnel freely once more. And I have a pretty strong feeling that Leicester's Blue Army fan base will advocate this particular sale. We will reveal the person in question and our view on a potential £10million agreement in due course.
One element which makes a prospective deal even more necessary and likely, is the fact that midfielder has a rapidly expiring contract. Something must give by June, because seeing valuable or semi-worthy professionals leave for free is a tough request for fans. Thankfully it is claimed that LCFC want to 'strengthen the squad with the proceeds' - music to supporters' ears! Can City sell to Sevilla, Roma or Monaco? Let's see.
Leicester City supposedly set £10million price tag for midfielder Boubakary Soumare with Sevilla, Roma and Monaco monitoring the situation
Soumare is another polarising player in my opinion. At times, he seemed the real deal. On other occasions he let games, and dangerous opponents, slide past him unchallenged.
Desire and commitment are questionable with respect to Soumare - not ability or athleticism. Therefore I'm not too bothered if the Frenchman leaves; we have adequate alternatives, replacements and burgeoning prospects such as Sammy Braybrooke.
Below is the report on the 26-year-old. City would strongly consider £10m, I imagine. Though the source is a new one on me; we'll have to wait to see if the rumour gets traction.
"Exclusive: Leicester City Set to Offload Boubakary Soumaré in JanuarySportsBoom
Leicester City are set to offload French midfielder Boubakary Soumare in January for around £10 million before his contract expires in June. The club aims to strengthen the squad with the proceeds. Soumare, now in his fifth year at the club, has fallen down the pecking order after their relegation. Sevilla, Roma, and Monaco are interested in signing him."
