Leicester still want transfer for 18-goal striker this summer

Believe it or not, Leicester City currently have no senior strikers on the roster. That remains a stark and genuine concern for the Blue Army, manifesting despite the current interlude of an active World Cup.

It is the precarious implication of this squad and club standing that truly alarms, even when acknowledging that sufficient time for a structural turnaround exists before the rigours of preseason officially commence. With a manager now in place in the widely unwanted Russell Martin, who is at least deserving of a fair opportunity at King Power Stadium, a roster capable of challenging the League One competition can yet be successfully compiled.

However, cash remains in critically short supply and is being monitored by the authorities; and occurs amidst the backdrop of the Foxes' own incompetent-proven board. Even though speculative reports suggest the East Midlands side will possess a transfer fund of approximately £10 million, this writer harbours significant doubts regarding that claim: especially considering the sheer volume of player sales supposedly necessary to balance the books.

Focusing back on the essential need for firepower, the Leicester recruitment department must avoid the temptation to merely sign anybody. What is required is a demonstrably competent and experienced goalscorer to aid the evasion of this negative position.

Leicester City and rivals eye Lorent Tolaj transfer

One such target who has been linked over the previous month, if not longer, is Lorent Tolaj.
Tolaj is 24 years of age, is a left-footer and stands at six-foot with a blend of imposing muscle and refined technique.

The Swiss baller is a viable candidate to leave Plymouth Argyle for an estimated £3 million. Yet his manager, Tom Cleverley, wishes to retain his centre forward amid reported interest from clubs such as Preston North End, Stoke City, Celtic, and Swansea City who currently outrank City.
