This season hasn't been easy for Leicester City Football Club and their ever-loyal supporters so far. Not at all. Ridding themselves of another manager then subsequently appointing a new man to lead the team takes time and effort. These types of changes rarely succeed from the start either. Just look up Alex Ferguson or Mikel Arteta's early phases at Manchester United and Arsenal to learn about that for confirmation.
In addition to the change at the top of the playing side of things, we are led to believe City have relative turmoil at the apex of the hierarchical organisation too. This began with the Profit and Sustainability parameters being pushed and probably broken by LCFC. That consequently affects the on-pitch performance due to unsatisfactory recruitment over a number of years, as I'm sure you'll appreciate.
Long-time Chief Executive Officer Susan Whelan also left the Foxes recently in strange or questionable circumstances. The reason swirling around the Blue Army fan base is, ostensibly, that unliked director of football Jon Rudkin ousted Whelan from Filbert Way in one way or another. Though the theory is unverified.
Turmoil continued onto the field of play, as I alluded to prior. Cifuentes was not given the appropriate funds, tools or seemingly support to correctly conduct business. Although the former Queens Park Rangers head coach appears seriously dedicated to progress and ultimate success at King Power Stadium.
Yet even the 43-year-old's position has been questioned by media and the faithful before now. All this leads Foxes of Leicester to consider automatic ascension back to the Premier League out of the question this term. But what about the other route to the big time?
Ex-Foxes star suggests Leicester City are good enough to secure Championship Playoff berth
Paul Dickov claims his old club 'have enough Premier League experience' to make the Playoffs. At present, I am unconvinced. His quote is below:
"They’re sitting in and around the playoffs at the minute, and if that’s the case at the turn of the year, into February, I see no reason why they can’t make a big push for the playoffs."The Football League Paper
