If you watched Leicester City's match against Preston North End at the weekend, you'll be only too aware that the Foxes require more firepower up front. Clearly, judging from the game and its statistics, the East Midlands team can create and certainly have no shortage of creators. Yet somebody clinical and deadly to finish off innovative, carved opportunities is the order of the day on Filbert Way. LCFC musterd 14 shots at Deepdale Stadium on Saturday afternoon; which isn't a bad offering at all. Though a mere two efforts on target hammers my previous point home rather dramatically!

Jordan Ayew isn't going to get between 20-25 goals, even in the Championship. A tally of 15 finishes would be a real achievement for the Ghanaian, although unlikely whether he starts or not. Meanwhile Bilal El Khannouss is apparently happy to leave; no surprises there, then! If the playmaker does go, Leicester head coach Marti Cifuentes will need a replacement for that role as well. While the Blue Army fan base collectively wonders 'are LCFC actually even actively looking for a striker and/or a No.10?'. Let's have a look at two very recent City claims.

Leicester City transfer rumours: João Rego

Encouraging stuff here, as the King Power side seek a realistic loan with an option to buy for the second striker. In fact, City's recruitment team have reportedly already approached Benfica.

"On Friday, A Bola reported Leicester City have set their sights on Benfica’s João Rego. They also said Martí Cifuentes plans to use him as a No.10 or a second striker if the Foxes are able to sign him this summer."

Foxes after Fotis Ioannidis?

I'm not going to make another Leonidas/Ioannidis joke. I don't want to do anything that might perhaps jeopardise Leicester getting any centre forward that's even remotely available of interested. Silliness aside, what's the latest on this one?

Well, not great 'news' for LCFC, actually. You see, Ioannidis is genuinely a good player, and therefore he'll wish to try his luck in one of Europe's top five divisions. And that's exactly what's predicted in spite of the Foxes' apparent scouting:

"The BBC have suggested he is of interest to Sporting Lisbon and Porto, meaning Leeds [and ostensibly Leicester] could face competition from the continent"
