On Tuesday morning, a major update emerged regarding the chaos at Sheffield Wednesday Football Club. The latest announcement transpired prior to the Owls' planned trip to King Power Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Indeed, Foxes fans have been wondering if the game will in fact go ahead as expected with all of Wednesday's financial problems and player and fan base unrest.

We have the most recent news for you in that regard. Not to mention expert opinion and that of the people directly involved in the situation on both sides. In addition to that factor, we also offer our verdict on the matters at hand. Let's waste no time and get started. And hopefully this match is still OK to be conducted, of course.

Owls experience turbulence

Repeated so-called mismanagement along with continuous breaches of English Football League regulations have apparently landed the South Yorkshire side in hot water. I mean, we could be talking of LCFC here, but the Sheffield outfit appear to be ran even more poorly than ourselves.

Their players are unhappy, understandably; they are often paid late and are reportedly currently awaiting salary payment. A fan protest was also arranged and permitted by City before playing, if the fixture is playable.

However, good news came out of Hillsborough Stadium early this week, with days slowly counting down to the opening clashes of the Championship campaign. Now Wednesday captain Barry Bannan has spoken of his expectations concerning the upcoming tier two contest.

"When asked whether the players could go on strike and refuse to play against the Foxes, Bannan told Talksport: "No, I don't think so."

The Sheffield stalwart revealed he 'expects' his team to compete in the Leicester opener. Wednesdays stars did, though, refuse to play in a recent friendly versus Burnley; causing concern amongst EFL bosses.

Bannan, a respected professional, doesn't foresee his teammates going on strike or missing the Foxes meeting. The northern English club have a mere 15 senior players at present.
